Cavern Club issue demand after valuable memorabilia stolen

The Cavern Club has issued a demand to a thief who stole valuable memorabilia.

On Friday, January 27 the iconic club say they had a valuable item of memorabilia stolen from inside the club. The owners took to social media to confirm the incident and added they have CCTV footage of the person stealing the items.

The Cavern Club has said they will pass this onto the police who will deal with the matter further, unless the items are returned in 24 hours.

A post on the club's Facebook page said: "On Friday night a valuable item of Cavern Club memorabilia was stolen from inside the club. We have the CCTV footage and have the individual on video stealing the items.

"We will pass this onto the police to deal with the matter further, however we would still like what was stolen returned to us. If you are, or were with, the person who took the memorabilia we would appreciate its return.

"If given back we will not pass the video footage to the police and will not press charges. We will give the person 24 hours to respond."

Dozens of people commented under the post to express their shock and anger following the theft.

Erika Rainsford said: "Makes my blood boil. They had better return it and when/if they do, a life time ban. These things are precious and memories for all to enjoy. The person should be ashamed of themselves. Clocks ticking... tick tick tock tock."

Jane Wield said: "What is wrong with people, you should be ashamed."

Phillip Woodward said: "I really hope these people are pleased with themselves, but mark my words Karma will play its part."
