Cathcart Road traffic lights out as Glasgow City Council warns drivers

Glasgow City Council has issued a warning to drivers in response to traffic lights going dark on a key Glasgow road.

The lights are down on Cathcart Road at the junction of Caledonia Road in Oatlands. Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management Team confirmed the incident at 2pm this afternoon (Sunday).

The traffic lights in question are close to the First Bus Caledonia depot, the UK's largest bus depot.

The council say the issue is due to a Scottish Power fault and that the lights will remain off overnight in order for repairs to be made.

TRAFFCOM advised: "Due to a Scottish Power fault, the Traffic Signals at the junction of Cathcart Road and Caledonia Road are all dark.

"The Signals will remain off overnight to allow for Scottish Power to make repairs.

"Road users are advised to approach this junction with caution."
