Alex Fine, the husband of singer Cassie Ventura, has issued a statement in regards to his wife’s harrowing testimony against disgraced music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
“I have felt so many things sitting there. I have felt tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass,” Fine’s media statement read, per PEOPLE.
“I have felt profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her. I did not save Cassie, as some have said. To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie.”

Fine, 32, and Ventura, 38, have been married since 2019 and share two children together.
Ventura was previously in a relationship with Combs, beginning in 2007 — when she was 19 and he was 37 — with the pair breaking up in 2018. While testifying against Combs earlier this week, Ventura stated that Combs was “abusive” and “controlling” towards her, and described being forced to participate in infamous “freak-off” parties that were fuelled by drugs.
In Fine’s statement, he addressed Combs and the accomplices that might’ve assisted or enabled Combs’ abusive behaviour.
“And all of those who helped him along the way, please know this: You did not. You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room,” he wrote.

Fine also described Combs as a “demon”.
Last year a video from 2016 resurfaced and was published by CNN, showing Combs beating, kicking, and dragging Ventura in a hotel lobby while he was wearing a towel around his waist.
In May 2024, Fine published a statement on Instagram that strongly denounced Combs’ actions.
“Men who hit women aren’t men,” the post read.
“As men, violence against women shouldn’t be inevitable, check your brothers, your friends, and your family.”
Combs will return to court on Monday at 9am (local time).
