Carson Beck is starting to generate NFL Draft buzz

It’s been eight weeks since Carson Beck was given the reins of the Georgia offense and he’s been making the most of it. After multiple dominant performances, the junior quarterback is starting to get NFL draft buzz as a real prospect.

The Jacksonville native was subject to criticism early on as he was learning on the job, but he’s settled in nicely to command Mike Bobo’s offense. He isn’t just passing the eye test either. Beck’s numbers easily pass Stetson Bennett’s from last season. Beck’s completion percentage is higher and he has five more touchdowns than Bennett had through eight games last year.

It’s no secret that Beck has crazy arm talent, but there have been questions about whether or not he could place the ball in the right spot. With throws like the touchdown to Dillon Bell on Saturday, Beck is answering those questions. It’s starting to click for the junior and the Georgia offense is averaging over 40 points per game again.

It’s also time to put to rest the questions about how much Beck and the offense relied on Brock Bowers. The star tight end is incredible and elevates the team when he’s on the field, but the Georgia offense is still full of talent and it starts with No. 15 behind center. He might not get the same buzz as guys like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, but Beck will get plenty of opportunities to show scouts what he’s made of over the coming weeks against tough SEC foes.

Carson Beck will get another opportunity to shine in Week 10 as Georgia hosts the Missouri Tigers on Nov. 4 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
