Carol Vorderman explains how she keeps romances with five 'special friends' going

Carol Vorderman opened up about how her relationship with her five 'special friends' works.

The 62-year-old Countdown star has been honest about her private life and previously revealed she dates multiple men at the same time.

She dubs the mysterious men her 'special friends'.

Despite the many men in her life, the TV presenter claims it works out well as she doesn't want to be in live and isn't a jealous person.

Speaking to You magazine, she revealed all her 'special friends' are single and she wouldn't bat an eyelid if they fell for someone new.

"Oh yeah, yeah, my 'special friends'," she said. "I'm continuing with that system and it's working very well."

She revealed one of them has been part of her life for 11 years and she has known one for seven.

Her children Katie, 31, and Cameron, 25, know most of her 'special friends'.

She said: 'I'm not a jealous person and I'm happy when my friends are happy, whether they are 'special friends' or not.

"The goal of my life is to be happy, not to be in love. I just find people interesting and life interesting.

"And you can get to a stage where you choose which bits you enjoy. You can't in your 30s because you're making your way in your career, you're beholden to bosses and all those sorts of things. But in your 60s…"

In January, Carol discussed the 'system' she put place with her lovers.

Appearing on Michelle Visage's Rule Breakers, she said she has been having the "best time".

"I spoke a couple of months ago about having 'special friends' and it was like, again, the world had fallen in for some people but actually what I found was there was an awful lot of women who said 'I'd never thought about it like this'," she said.

The TV star went on to explain that she's been in 'long-term relationships if you like' with the special friends.

"One's 11 years, one's seven years, you know everyone is single. It's a happy place. I hasten to add I'm not into one night stands," Carol said.
