Carlo Ancelotti gives firm response to Everton transfer question on January window

Carlo Ancelotti refused to talk about Everton's plans for the January transfer window following the defeat to West Ham.

The Blues boss was quizzed on his interest in Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira but was in no mood to be discussing any potential incomings this month.

Reports have claimed that Khedira is set to open talks with Everton over a move from Italy this month and before Christmas, Ancelotti hinted at his interest in a reunion with the player he managed at Real Madrid.

But after the Blues' 1-0 defeat to West Ham at Goodison, Ancelotti was not about to be drawn into talk of the January window.

Asked if there was any truth in the reports, Ancelotti said: "The only truth is that the market is open. That's it."

The Everton boss was then asked if he expected the club to do business this month, and replied: "We are not talking about this.

"We are focused on recovering the players who have not been with us in this moment."
