Carl Woods announces split from Katie Price

Carl Woods and Katie Price have split up. The Love Island star announced the news on his Instagram.

He said it was "embarrassing" and that there was "no easy way to say it". OK! reports that Carl, 32, posted a video of himself explaining what happened.

He said: "Me and Katie are not together anymore." Carl added: "So yeah. That's that I guess. Just gonna have to focus on rebuilding myself and get my life back on track and concentrating on me but... that's done."

Katie, who is 44, has not yet commented publicly on the break-up. However, she did hint at being single again last night, when she posted a picture of her dinner and said she was having "a bit of solo time".

Katie and Carl began dating in June 2020 after meeting through TV work and mutual friends. The relationship has, however, been tumultuous, being dogged by split rumours.

They confirmed their engagement less than a year later, in April 2021, as Katie exclusively told OK!: "It’s refreshing to be with a man that if I decided I never wanted to work again, he’d look after me. I just love him."

She then revealed that he had asked her family for permission to ask her to marry him, as she explained: "We’d spoken about it a lot, so I knew he was going to, I just didn’t know when. It was amazing. Carl asked my mum and dad for permission – and Junior!"

Katie shares two children – 17 year old Junior and 15 year old Princess – with her ex husband, Peter Andre, who she met in the Australian jungle during their 2004 stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. She's also mum to eldest son Harvey, 20, who she shares with ex-footballer, Dwight Yorke, as well as Jett, nine, and Bunny, eight, who she shares with her ex-husband Kieran Hayler. Earlier this month it was reported that Katie and Carl had decided to call off their engagement, after a string of rows.

A source told OK!: “A lot of drama that has happened between Katie and Carl seems to have been brushed under the carpet, but their relationship doesn’t seem that strong at the moment and friends think it could be over soon."

They continued: “They’ve been having small rows – it’s just petty things. Katie will swear at him and get really impatient with him. She can get like that towards the end of a relationship and pals think they could be at that point. Those close to them don’t think that they’ll end up getting married. Her family don’t spend that much time with him – and he wasn’t invited to her sister Sophie’s wedding earlier this year.”
