Carl Frampton has refused to rule out retiring from boxing following his defeat to Josh Warrington.

Frampton suffered a unanimous points defeat to Warrington on Saturday night with the latter retaining his IBF featherweight title in an enthralling encounter in Manchester.

The Belfast fighter suffered the first defeat of his professional career to Leo Santa Cruz in January 2017 – having beaten the Mexican to win his third world title the previous year.

The 31-year-old would win his next three fights before returning to the world title picture against Warrington, but after a second defeat, he admits he is now he may have to consider his future in the sport.

“I have a young family at home and I have been in this game a long time,” Frampton said.

“I’ll make no decisions now but I will sit down with my team and discuss my next move.”

For Warrington, he ends 2018 on a high after winning his world title in another thriller against Lee Selby in May.
