Cardinals to use rotation of linemen vs. Rams

The Arizona Cardinals have a banged-up offensive line. They will have at least three backups playing on the interior and even left tackle D.J. Humphries is questionable for the game.

Left guard Cody Ford missed time this week with an illness. They added guard Wyatt Davis via a waiver claim this week and rookie Lecitus Smith finished the game for Will Hernandez last week.

Hernandez has since been placed on injured reserve.

Assuming Humphries plays, the tackles are set with him and Kelvin Beachum. But the two guard spots and center positions might have multiple guys playing.

Billy Price has played poorly the last two weeks. He and Sean Harlow could split time. They added Wyatt Davis midweek.

Coach Kliff Kingsbury said the line situation is fluid.

“We’ve had a bunch of moving pieces and a bunch of different guys got reps this week to see where they fit,” he said. “We’ll probably play multiple people in the game and just try to find the best combination during the game as well and keep some of those guys healthy.”

Ford will probably start and remain at left guard unless he is too weak from his illness this week.

We might see alternating series with Price and Harlow at center. Davis and Smith could both get snaps at right guard.

It will be interesting to see how things start and how things finish by the end of the game.
