Cardinals to have private workout with ASU DL Renell Wren

While free agency has been in full swing, the Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL are also preparing for the NFL draft. Arizona has begun to schedule private workouts with players in the draft.

One such player is Arizona State defensive lineman Renell Wren. He is scheduled to have a private workout with the Cardinals on April 1, according to Draft Wire’s Justin Melo.

Because Wren played locally at Arizona State, that April 1 date is very likely going to be when the Cardinals bring in many local prospects.

They do have holes on the defensive line and Wren is one of the more athletic prospects in the draft among defensive interior linemen. At 6-5 and 318 pounds, he ran the 40 in 5.08 seconds, benched 30 reps of 225 pounds, had a vertical leap of 32 inches, a three-cone of 7.65 seconds and a 20-yards shuttle of 4.53 seconds.

He had 43 tackles, 4.5 for a loss and a sack for the Sun Devils in 2018.
