Cardinals host DB prospect Ugo Amadi after having DT Jeffery Simmons in for visit

The Arizona Cardinals continue to bring in draft prospects for official visits. They had one in on Monday and another on Tuesday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Pelissero tweeted the Cardinals met with Mississippi State defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons on Monday and then Oregon defensive back Ugo Amadi on Tuesday.

Simmons was considered a top-10 pick before he tore his ACL in a workout.

Now it is unknown where exactly he will land in the draft. He should be able to play the last couple of months of his rookie season.

Amadi is an undersized defensive back who played both cornerback and safety at 5-9, 199 pounds. In four years with the Ducks, he had nine interceptions, including seven over his final two seasons.

He has 1.5 sacks each of the last two seasons.

He also averaged nearly 16 yards per punt return and a touchdown as a senior.

Based on the award he earned for his play and leadership, he appears to be a rock in the locker room. He is considered a late Day 3 pick, where the Cardinals have five selections in the final two rounds.
