Cardinals DL Darius Philon has August 16 court date

Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Darius Philon has been accused of and arrested on charges of aggravated assault when he allegedly threatened a woman with a handgun in May outside the strip club where she worked. The arrest occurred on Friday and on Saturday he appeared in court.

12 Sports in Phoenix showed the video of his appearance with the judge.

The defense recommended a $15,000 secured appearance bond. The judge ordered a $5,000 bond instead and set his next court appearance for August 16. Philon is still in police custody.

The Cardinals will return to the practice field at State Farm Stadium this afternoon at 1 p.m. They will be without Philon and if he remains in custody until his court date, he will miss the team’s next preseason game, which is on August 15 against the Oakland Raiders.
