Cardinals could have 4 rookies in starting lineup in Week 1

The Arizona Cardinals were very pleased with the player they were able to acquire in the NFL draft this year. They are expected to play important roles this season. However, not many were expected to start right away.

Quarterback Kyler Murray was always going to be the starter. However, the way things look now, four Cardinals draft picks from this year could be in the starting lineup in the team’s season opener against the Detroit Lions.

Murray is obviously going to start at quarterback.

Cornerback Byron Murphy is projected to be the team’s slot cornerback and could potentially be the No. 2 cornerback while Patrick Peterson serves his six-game suspension.

Sixth-round pick KeeSean Johnson might be a starting receiver. Things are trending in that direction for him.

Now, because defensive lineman Darius Philon was arrested, third-round pick Zach Allen could potentially find himself starting on the defensive line.

The Cardinals relied heavily on their rookie class a season ago. It looks like they might have to do it again this year.
