Cardinals could be playing in rainy conditions vs Commanders

When the Arizona Cardinals play at home in State Farm Stadium, they never have to worry about weather conditions. The stadium has a retractable roof and, for most of the season, games are played with the roof closed.

They begin the season on the road against the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field, an open-air stadium.

The weather could affect the game.

The weather report shows a chance for scattered showers and a thunderstorm.

The Cardinals might kick off the season playing in the rain.

The thunderstorm situation is something to watch, though, as lightning might cause the game to be delayed, suspended or more.

Kickoff is at 1 p.m. local time in Maryland or 10 a.m. Arizona time.

Hopefully, the game is not affected too much by the weather conditions.
