Cardinals claim TE Dan Arnold off waivers, place Jonathan Bullard on IR

Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard’s season is over. After suffering a hamstring injury in Week 13 that coach Kliff Kingsbury said would keep him out multiple weeks, the team placed him on injured reserve. The move freed up a roster spot for tight end Dan Arnold, whom they acquired via a waiver claim.

Arnold was released by the New Orleans Saints on Wednesday.

Arnold, at 6-6 and 220 pounds, is in his third year in the league after entering as an undrafted rookie as a receiver. He was on injured reserve as a rookie.

In 2018, he played in 10 games for the Saints and caught 12 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown. He began this season on the practice squad for the Saints and played in two games after getting promoted to the active roster. He has two catches for 25 yards, both against the Cardinals.

The Cardinals now have four tight ends on the roster. The addition of Arnold appears to be looking ahead to 2020. He is under contract through next season.
