Philogene told to go to Europe
Former Aston Villa striker-turned-pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has advised Cardiff loan man Jaden Philogene to join a European club next season.
Philogene has been in tremendous form for the Bluebirds in recent months and his performances have attracted admiring glances from teams on the continent.
He has one year left on his Aston Villa contract, but if reports in the Midlands are to be believed, Philogene could be on the chopping block as Unai Emery looks to clear the decks this summer.
Agbonlahor though has urged the attacker to follow Jadon Sancho’s example and develop as a player on the continent.
Agbonlahor told Football Insider: “If he can get another loan out to Europe, it could be a good option. We’ve seen how it can really help players to go to another country and play at the top level there. It’s a different challenge to the Championship.
“He should want to test himself, and I think it’s perfect. We’ve seen how it has helped the likes of Jadon Sancho, and now Balogun from Arsenal.
“I think it could well be his best chance of getting in this Villa side.”
Striker left out
Mark Harris has been left out of Wales’ 23-man squad for tonight’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Latvia.
Manager Rob Page has gone with the same group of players as he did for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Croatia in Split.
That means there is no place for Harris or Swansea City striker Liam Cullen.
Their club managers will be pleased, however, with both likely to feature in some capacity in the South Wales derby on Saturday.

Peltier: We've been really bad
Former Bluebird Lee Peltier has admitting his current team's form has been topsy-turvy,
Rotherham United are embroiled in a relegation battle with Cardiff, with the match between the two sides abandoned before the international break due to a waterlogged pitch.
A resolution has yet to be found on that front, but Cardiff are likely to head back to Yorkshire to replay the game in full.
Peltier says when the Millers have been bad this term, they've been really bad, but believes they have what it takes to beat the drop.
He said to the Second Tier Podcast: "It's been an up and down season, but when we have been up we've been really good, but when we've been down we've been really bad.
"January made a big difference, brought in a lot of Championship experience, but no fault of anyone's we got hit with a few bad injuries and stuff like that.
"Quietly confident, I think the lads are great, I think the club are trying to do the rights things to be a Championship club now.
"I think they've got a great manager in Matt Taylor, I think he's really good, he can go on to be a top manager.
"It's the first time I've worked with him or come across him and I really like how he is, I think if he can keep us up this year, the club are in great hands."
