A motor has smashed through a wall in an Ayrshire supermarket car park.

Shoppers were left stunned when the blue car ploughed through the boundary wall at Aldi in Irvine.

Pictures taken by an eyewitness show the wheels of the motor on top of the wall outside the East Road shop.

In another image cops are spotted at the scene assessing the damage.

An eyewitness has told Ayrshire Live how the driver was an elderly lady who was visibly upset after the incident.

Police have confirmed they attended and uplifted the vehicle. There were no injuries.

An eyewitness said: "It was an elderly lady, she wasn't harmed but was left very shaken and upset. Another lady went to help her and got a taxi home."
