Car smashes into the front of Nottinghamshire hospital

The emergency services were called after a car smashed into the front of a Nottinghamshire hospital.

Firefighters were called just before 4.10pm today (July 13) after a vehicle collided with the King's Mill Hospital in Sutton in Ashfield.

No one was injured at the scene but a man was checked over by the Emergency Department staff.

Firefighters made the vehicle safe before leaving the scene.

A Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were called at 4.08pm to reports of a collision.

"A car had collided with the hospital building but no one was trapped.

"We sent one appliance from Mansfield

"We made the vehicle safe and left the scene at 5.15pm."

The Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust confirmed windows at the building were damaged.

A spokesman said: "A car accidentally crashed into the front of King’s Mill hospital this afternoon, smashing two panes of glass.

"Nobody was seriously hurt, but a man is being checked in our Emergency Department as a precaution."

Police officers were called but did not attend the scene.
