Car mounts kerb and crushes lamppost in horror crash in Cowdenbeath

A car reportedly mounted the pavement and crushed a lamppost in an early morning crash in Cowdenbeath.

Police raced to Leuchatsbeath Drive at around 12.50am this morning following the incident.

Neighbours were shocked to see a Grey Honda Civic mounted on top of a crushed lamppost at the corner of the residential street.

The damaged car was taped off and cops said they have arrested the 29-year-old driver.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a 29-year-old man has been arrested after a crash in Leuchatsbeath Drive in Cowdenbeath at 12.50am this morning (Saturday 12 September).

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
