A car fire broke on the side of a road this morning.
Bath and Yate fire station crews were called to the scene of the blaze in Bath Road, Old Sodbury just after 6am.
They tweeted: "The pump is returning from a car on fire in Old Sodbury. @AFRSYate had got there just ahead of us and already had things in hand! #Avonfire #RedWatch."
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed that fire crews were at the scene this morning and that the cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
They said: "At 06.12am this morning, Crews from Yate and Bath fire stations were called to reports of a car on fire.
"On arrival, firefighters used one breathing apparatus for safety and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.
"Police were also in attendance.
"The cause is thought to be accidental."
