A car was left wrecked and 'completely smashed' following a horror crash on a Scots road with four people running from the vehicle.
Police raced to the scene of the one-vehicle smash at Formounthills Road in Glenrothes, Fife around 8.10pm on Sunday August 8.
A dramatic picture from the scene, posted online by Fife Jammers, shows the wrecked silver vehicle, believed to be a Jeep.
It appears to have a back wheel punctured, the back windscreen missing and significant body damage while wreckage litters the road around it.
Four people ran from the scene of the crash and cops are now looking to trace them.
It is unclear if anyone was injured hurt in the dramatic smash.
Locals online have said the Jeep 'rolled' in the crash and the 'vehicle was really smashed up with the windscreen all gone' and that the road was still closed at 10pm.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Officers attended at Fortmonthills Road, Glenrothes on Sunday, 8 August around 8.10pm after a crash involving one vehicle.
"Four people made off from the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace them."
