Car collision turns to blazing fire near M50, with photos showing severe damage to burned vehicle

A two car collision near the M50 led to a fiery blaze, with one car being engulfed in flames.

The fire grew so bad that the main carriageway was temporarily affected by the amount of smoke.

Dublin Fire Brigade shared images of the incident, showing the horrific damage the fire caused to one of the cars.

The incident took place at the N7 Naas Road this afternoon.

The scene was attended by fire trucks, gardai and an ambulance.

Five people were involved in the collision, with three brought to the hospital for injuries.

Thankfully, none of the injuries are life threatening.

It is currently unknown how the car fire started. DFB said the cause of the fire will be determined by the gardai.
