The WNBL has been forced to cancel Sunday's round-two game between the UC Capitals and Sydney Uni Flames in Canberra because of a positive COVID-19 case.

A member of the Capitals club attended a full team training session in Canberra on Tuesday morning, and has since tested positive and begun isolating for 14 days.

All players and coaches at the training session have been deemed close contacts. They have been tested and are undergoing a seven-day isolation period.

The Capitals had played the Flames in Sydney last Sunday, with the visitors winning 58-55.

The WNBL said the Flames players would also undergo testing.

"The WNBL has a covid safety plan for all players, officials and fans that ensures we adhere to all Government requirements and move swiftly to prevent any spread of the virus," WNBL executive general manager of competitions Paul Maley said in a statement.

"We will continue to monitor this situation closely working collaboratively with the clubs."

The WNBL is looking to reschedule the game to a later date this season.
