The bitter public fight between Candace Owens and leaders at Turning Point USA has taken another sharp turn. On July 10, Owens hit back at TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet after he posted a sarcastic message on X that compared conspiracy theories to claims that Jesus’ resurrection involved a body double and that Mary was part of a murder plot. Owens called the comparison “positively blasphemous” and accused Kolvet of misusing Christian beliefs to defend Erika Kirk, the widow of late TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk.

The latest clash comes as court proceedings continue for Tyler Robinson, the man charged with killing Charlie Kirk during a September 2025 TPUSA event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Prosecutors have presented video evidence, DNA findings and statements allegedly linked to Robinson, while his defense team has challenged parts of the forensic case. So far, court filings have not supported the broader theories promoted by Owens.
Why Candace Owens and Andrew Kolvet are fighting over Charlie Kirk’s legacy?
The roots of the dispute go back years. Owens and Charlie Kirk were once close allies through Turning Point USA, where she previously worked. Although she left the organization in 2019, Owens has repeatedly said they remained friends and stayed in contact.
After Kirk’s death, however, Owens began publicly questioning the official account of the shooting. On her podcast and social media accounts, she raised doubts about the investigation and suggested there could be a larger story behind the killing. Those claims brought her into direct conflict with TPUSA leaders and people close to Kirk.
