A woman gets early access to the Louis Vuitton x Murakami bag she’s been eyeing. She realizes she can’t make a split payment online and heads to the store, hoping to score the bag before it’s too late.
In a video with over 42,000 views, TikToker DyEisha Mone (@dyeishamone) sits in her car on the way to the Florida mall.
“The Murakami bag ended up showing up online for Louis. So I ran to the mall,” she says. “I’ve been wanting this bag for years.” However, the last time the bag was available, she “missed it.”
When she went to purchase it online, she realized she had the “money saved on the wrong card.” The TikToker attempts to split her payment between two cards online, but the website prompts her to try in-store.
She films herself walking through the mall and sitting inside the Louis Vuitton store. At the end of the clip, she shares that she has “good news and bad news.”
Could she split her payment at Louis Vuitton?
She says one worker told her the store’s workers didn’t have the same online early access to the bag.
“They weren’t able to purchase the bag for me right there,” she says. “That really hurt my feelings.”
However, another worker came through for her. She allowed Mone to put down the full payment—split between cards—as a “deposit.” Then, she would be able to pick up her bag when the store recieved it during the official drop a few days later.
She picks up the bag in a follow-up video, sharing her excitement with viewers. She unwraps the white leather bag with rainbow LV logos printed on its surface.
While Louis Vuitton doesn’t share exact policies on split payments online, other shoppers share what they’ve heard from other stores.
“Yes, they can accept up to 3 forms of payment on one transaction,” one writes on the Purse Blog forum.
Another says, “Yup. I do it all the time. Usually, because I end up spending more than intended. :-/ I am so bad. LOL!”
How did shoppers react to her purchase?
Other fans of the designer brand suggest that Mone build a relationship with a specific sales associate who could help her access other perks.
“Find you a SA that can send you all the look books so you can have access to the drops,” one says.
Another writes, “I pre-ordered mine 3 weeks ago. You need to get a CA.”
Some say they also jumped through hoops to get the new Louis Vuitton x Murakami drop.
“My order better be shipping tonight or first thing tomorrow! I preordered and already got tracking numbers so I cannot wait,” a commenter shares.
“I pre-ordered the East-West and a few other things, which I will pick up on Saturday. Thinking about getting the Speedy too,” a second adds.
