Can you listen to Leeds and Reading Festival on the Radio?

If you haven’t been able to get yourself a ticket to Leeds or Reading Festival, then you may well be looking to tune in via radio. With this year’s headliners including Dave, The 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Arctic Monkeys, and Bring Me The Horizon, it’s unsurprising that even Leeds’ large capacity at Bramham Park has already sold out.

The festivals have seen iconic sets in the past from Foo Fighters, Anne-Marie, Biffy Clyro, Charli XCX, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stefflon Don, The Libertines, and many more. Sadly, rap-metal act Rage Against The Machine pulled out of this year's festivals, reportedly due to a medical issue involving singer Zack de la Rocha.

If you’re looking to tune in to either of the festivals this year, then the BBC is leading coverage, as they have done for many years.

How to listen to Leeds and Reading Festival on the Radio

BBC Radio 1 will be the station to tune in for L&R festival coverage this year. Their official website states: “Even if you’re miles away, you can transport yourself to Reading Festival by listening to Radio 1, joining your favourite presenters, DJs and loads more as they bring you all the exclusive action.

“Across the weekend, Radio 1 will be on the ground bringing you the latest as it happens - expect live music, guests, and all the fun from the festival.”

Be aware, though - the station's radio coverage is focused on Reading rather than Leeds.
