Callum Sheedy the hero for Bristol Bears as he nails match-winning kick while missing Wales' Six Nations trophy presentation

Callum Sheedy’s remarkable season just goes on and on.

Having helped Wales secure the Six Nations title, he has returned to action for his club Bristol and once again played a decisive role.

In Sunday afternoon’s Gallagher Premiership clash with Harlequins at Ashton Gate, the fly-half from Cardiff landed a testing match-winning conversion with the final kick of the game.

Holding his nerve, he bisected the posts from wide out on the right to earn the Bears a dramatic 35-33 bonus point victory which extends their lead at the top of the table.

Sheedy’s conversion of Kyle Sinckler’s late try was his fourth successful kick of a game that saw his team pull off a thrilling comeback, having trailed 33-21 with just five minutes to go.

Sheedy showed his class in every sense, kicking the winning points and then shrugging off his teammates jumping on him to go and shake hands with the opposition.

He missed Wales’ Six Nations trophy presentation ( You can see pictures and video of that here ) through playing in the match, but Bristol will have been delighted to have him on board.

His last-gasp winning conversion means they are now 12 points clear of second-placed Exeter at the top of the Premiership.

Fellow Welshman Dan Thomas, the Bristol back rower, was named Man of the Match by BT Sport pundit Ugo Monye.
