Callum McGregor breaks silence over Postecoglou Spurs links

Callum McGregor hopes Ange Postecoglou stays at Celtic for the foreseeable.

The Hoops skipper has broken his silence on the speculation linking the 57-year-old boss with Tottenham.

The Australian is reportedly set for talks with Spurs chief Daniel Levy on Monday.

But all of the focus was fully on today's game against Inverness in the Scottish Cup.

Celtic triumphed from the game 3-1, securing their fifth trophy out of six under Postecoglou.

And while the Celtic manager's future remains unclear at this time, McGregor was full of praise for the Aussie, and pleaded for Postecoglou to stay in Glasgow for many years to come.

He said: "In the build-up, the boys have been unbelievable and the gaffer has been great. All of the focus has been on this game.

"We worked so hard this season and we wanted to win it, get another trophy.

"In terms of being linked, he's done a fantastic job. Honestly, I can't tell you how good he's been since the minute he walked in the door.

"All I can say on a personal note is that I hope we can keep him for as long as possible."
