"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" beta dates are finally confirmed.
The upcoming update will give players an early chance to experience the upcoming first-person shooter before its official launch. The multiplayer beta will roll out in stages, with early access for eligible players followed by a wider open beta.
The testing period is expected to give fans an early look at the game's multiplayer maps, weapons, Operators, game modes, and new gameplay systems.
'Modern Warfare 4 Beta' Early Access Starts August 21
According to the announced schedule, players who pre-order "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4" on PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S will receive early access to the beta from August 21 through August 25.
This initial testing phase will allow eligible players to experience the multiplayer gameplay before the beta becomes available to a wider audience.
Players on Nintendo Switch 2 are expected to join during the open beta period, scheduled to run from August 28 through September 1. The wider testing window will allow more players to explore Infinity Ward's latest multiplayer experience.
'Call of Duty' Next to Showcase Multiplayer Gameplay
The "Modern Warfare 4" beta is scheduled to begin following the Call of Duty Next presentation on August 21. The event is expected to provide additional information about the game's multiplayer features through gameplay demonstrations, developer presentations, and new announcements.
Activision has yet to reveal the complete lineup of content that will be available during the beta. However, players can expect more details about multiplayer maps, weapons, Operators, and game modes as the event approaches.
'Modern Warfare 4' Adds New Multiplayer Modes
Activision has reportedly confirmed that "Modern Warfare 4" will launch with 19 weapons, along with a selection of multiplayer maps and game modes designed for different playstyles.
The multiplayer experience is expected to include smaller-scale 3v3 matches as well as larger battles featuring vehicles such as tanks. Returning modes such as Search & Destroy will also be available, giving longtime "Call of Duty" players a familiar competitive experience.
The game will also introduce a new mode called Kill Block, although additional details about how it works have yet to be fully revealed.
According to IGN, players will also have access to a Training Mobility Course, which is designed to help them practice movement and improve their skills before entering competitive matches.
New Gunny System Expands Multiplayer Customization
One of the game's new features is the Gunny system, which will reportedly allow players to create and customize their multiplayer loadouts.
Activision has not yet explained exactly how the system will differ from traditional "Call of Duty" loadout customization. More information is expected during upcoming announcements and the Call of Duty Next showcase.
Last month, PlayerOne reported that "Modern Warfare 4" skins would embrace realism rather than awkward designs.
