Cakes recalled in Ireland 'due to possible presence of pieces of metal'

Batches of cakes are being recalled here due to the possible presence of pieces of metal inside them.

The treats, which include chocolate, lemon and carrot cakes, are to be pulled from shelves immediately, with recall notices displayed in stores which have stocks of the batches affected.

Seerys Heatherfield Ltd, based in Carlow, issued the recall.

A message on the Food Safety Authority of Ireland's (FSAI) website  reads: "Seerys Heatherfield Ltd is recalling the specified batches of its Ryan’s Carrot Cake, Lemon Cake and Chocolate Cake due to the potential presence of pieces of metal.

"Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batches."

See the batch codes and best before notices for the cakes below.
