What’s Going To Happen
Can BYU turn its season around with a road win before having to deal with Boise State and Utah State? After losing at Toledo, now it’s a dangerous time for the Cougars at 2-3, with just enough losable games over the second half of the season if they lose this.
The storyline is Jaren Hall – BYU’s first African-American starting quarterback – as he needs to kickstart a Cougar offense that’s not consistent enough.
USF was able to get an easy win at UConn, but it has to come up with another win now with two road games to follow and the big boys coming up in November.
The Bulls aren’t getting any production from the offensive line, and the attack can’t seem to control games when they need to be able to grind it out from time to time.
But BYU doesn’t have a pass rush. It’s not going to be able to take advantage of the matchup.
For all of USF’s problems, it can get into the backfield on a consistent basis, and they’re going to bother Hall all game long and force a slew of takeaways – the Bulls have taken it away 14 times so far.
It won’t be anything pretty, but in the 86-degree weather will be an issue, and the USF D will rise up when needed.
