Businesses targeted in Lake View burglaries

A burglary happened June 4, 2019, in the 3400 block of North Halsted Street and another took place a couple of days later.

Police are warning business owners in Lake View to ensure their surveillance systems are working following a pair of burglaries in June.

In each case, the offenders entered the businesses after breaking out the front windows, removed property and ran from the location, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The burglaries occurred in the early morning hours of June 4 in the 3400 block of North Halsted Street and June 6 in the 2900 block of North Lincoln Avenue, police said.

Two people wearing hooded shirts are thought to be involved in the incidents, police said.

Anyone with information about these burglaries is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
