Burning Midnight is an adventure fantasy thriller book with an unpredictable twist, set in the US.
Magical and mysterious spheres suddenly start appearing all around the world. People soon learn that if you have two spheres of the same colour – vermillion, mint, chocolate, canary and forest green to name a few – they give you qualities and enhance you, maybe making you stronger, giving you amazing hearing, and making you good at holding your breath.
No one knows where these spheres have come from or even how they work. However, what they do know is that these spheres alter DNA, changing the person seemingly for the better.
Sully is a seller of the spheres in a flea market and he struggles to find spheres until Hunter comes along with her mysterious secrets, and suddenly his whole world gets turned upside down.
This book has really surprised me, as I don’t usually enjoy fantasy, so I was really not sure about it when I received it. This book really is an exception as I could not put it down – I read it in one afternoon. It captured my imagination and it was easy to visualise what was happening throughout the book. I found myself easily relating to the different characters and their personalities.
Overall, this is a fantastic read and is actually one of my favourite books!
