Buriram look to blast Sea Fangs again

Buriram's Supachai Chaided celebrates scoring against Samut Prakan in the League Cup.

Leaders Buriram United will be looking to end their mini-slump in Thai League 1 when they visit Samut Prakan on Saturday.

Buriram, who are five points ahead of Bangkok United, have suffered two consecutive league setbacks.

They conceded a last-gasp goal for a 2-2 draw with Police Tero which was followed by a shock 2-1 home loss to lowly Prachuap last Saturday.

However, the Thunder Castle are likely to return to winning ways as they thrashed Samut Prakan 4-1 to reach the League Cup quarter-finals in midweek.

Four different players scored against the Sea Fangs -- Jonathan Bolingi, Maicon, Supachai Chaided and Ayub Masika.

Samut Prakan have failed to win in the past 10 league games with six defeats and four draws.

They last won in the top flight in October when they beat Ratchaburi.

Having stunned leaders Buriram last week, Prachuap will be aiming to beat second-ranked Bangkok United tomorrow.

Relegation strugglers Prachuap are brimming with confidence after three successive wins in all competitions.

Prachuap coach Issara Sitaro said: "It will be another challenging match for us and we will try to get three points."

Bangkok United Totchtawan Sripan will return to the bench after missing a couple of games following a positive Covid-19 test.

"It is an important game for both teams and we want three points" said Totchtawan.
