Buriram juggernaut set to crush Warriors

Port's Negueba celebrates after scoring against Chiang Rai in the FA Cup.

Thai League 1 leaders Buriram United are expected to extend their unbeaten run when they host relegation contenders Lamphun Warriors tomorrow.

The Thunder Castle have not yet tasted a defeat this term in all major domestic competitions and are chasing a treble for the second season in a row.

Buriram are fresh from thrashing second-tier side Phrae United 5-2 in the FA Cup quarter-finals in midweek.

They are also in the semi-finals of the League Cup and enjoy a 12-point lead in the league with nine game remaining.

They are heavy favourites against newcomers Lamphun who are 12th, two points above the relegation zone.

Buriram's strike force will again be led by Supachai Chaided, who scored twice against Phrae on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Port host fierce rivals Muang Thong United at PAT Stadium tomorrow.

Port have improved since Choketawee Promrut and Surapong Kongthep were appointed as their coaches last month.

Their confidence was boosted by the 1-0 win against Chiang Rai United in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday with Brazilian forward Negueba scoring the winner.

"We have to get three points before our home fans," said Choketawee.

Muang Thong have fared well after the second half of the season began in January.

"This will be a difficult game for us as Port are good at home," said Muang Thong coach Mario Gjurovski.

"We hope to get at least one point."

Second-ranked Bangkok United, who reached the FA Cup semi-finals in midweek, visit Chiang Rai today.

Totchtawan Sripan's side need a win to keep alive their slim hopes of lifting the league trophy.
