Burglars target homes in South Shore, Grand Crossing: police

Two of the reported burglaries happened in the 7000 and 6900 blocks of South Clyde Avenue June 3-11, 2019.

Police are advising residents of South Shore and Grand Crossing to keep their homes well lit after a string of burglaries were reported this month.

In each incident, someone entered apartments or residences through the front door and stole property from inside, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

A description of the suspects wasn’t available, police said.

The burglaries happened:

• Between 8:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. June 3-6 in the 7000 block of South Clyde Avenue;

• About 1:44 a.m. June 11 in the 1500 block of East 68th Street;

• Between 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 11 in the 6900 block of South Clyde Avenue

• Between 8 a.m. and noon June 11-12 in the 7000 Block of South Chappel Avenue
