Burglar seeks laptops in West Loop office buildings: police

A person broke into three West Loop office buildings in June and July, according to Chicago police.

The burglar finds a way into the buildings on weekends and uses force to break into individual offices, specifically seeking out MacBook Pro laptops, police said.

The burglaries occurred:

· About 7 p.m., June 21 in the 600 block of West Jackson Boulevard;

· About 10:22 a.m., June 22 in the 600 block of West Randolph Street; and

· Between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., July 21 in the 500 block of West Randolph.

The suspect is described as a stocky African American man between 38 and 45 years old, wearing a baseball cap and carrying a dark Jordan brand backpack, police said.
