Phil Parkinson has insisted Josh Windass is “our player” and going nowhere, amid reports linking him with a Rangers return.
The Wrexham boss was responding to claims the Ibrox side are preparing talks to bring the attacking midfielder back to Glasgow.
Windass previously spent two seasons at Rangers, scoring 13 goals in 55 Premiership appearances between 2016 and 2018.
However, Parkinson made clear there has been no formal approach and underlined his desire to keep hold of one of his key men. “There was no contact in January for Josh, not officially,” he said.
“Josh is our player; he had a good season, and we are looking forward to him building on that next year. We are looking to add to the quality we have got, not lose it.”

Windass, 32, enjoyed an outstanding debut campaign at the Racecourse after joining on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday last summer.
He scored 17 goals in 46 appearances, including 16 in the league, as Wrexham finished seventh in the Championship, narrowly missing out on the play-offs.
His performances saw him named the club’s Player of the Season, inevitably attracting interest, something Parkinson accepts, but is relaxed about, given Wrexham’s current position. “I think we would be disappointed if there wasn’t some interest in our players,” he added.
“It is inevitable, but we have got the key players we want on long contracts, and we are in a good position on that front.
“We are looking to build on what we did last year and improve the squad to make us really competitive again.”
