Building plunge woman critical as passer-by she landed on out of danger in hospital

A woman who fell from a building yesterday remains in critical condition but the woman she fell on is now out of danger and no longer in a life-threatening condition.

Police were called to a High Street in the capital at 4.50pm following reports that a woman fell from a height and another sustained injuries as a result.

The London Ambulance Service also attended the scene in Wood Green, North London and treated both women before rushing them to a major trauma unit.

This morning a Metropolitan Police spokesperson told the Mirror: "The woman who fell from height remains in a critical condition.

"The condition of the woman who sustained injuries as a result of the incident is not life-threatening."

Images and video from social media showed a large cordon and tents erected on the pavement as passer-bys watched in horror.

High Road in Wood Green reopened later in the evening, with traffic flowing normally.

Police officers remained at the scene into the night, with a white and yellow forensic tent erected on the pavement.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said in a previous statement: "Police were called by LAS at 4.50pm on Wednesday, April 12, to reports of a woman injured after falling from height in High Road, Wood Green.

"Another woman sustained injuries as a result of the incident. They have been taken to the hospital for treatment, where they both remain in critical condition.

"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and officers are working to trace their next of kin. Road closures are currently in place on High Road."

"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance. Two patients were treated at the scene before both being taken to a major trauma centre as a priority."
