Bugatti's Latest One-Off Is A 1,578-HP Tribute To The Veyron

The Breakdown:

  • The Bugatti FKP Hommage is a one-off that pays tribute to the original Veyron and Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch.
  • It features custom body work, a unique cabin, and a black-and-red paint scheme.
  • It’s the second car from Bugatti’s Programme Solitaire.

Hot on the heels of the stunning Bugatti Brouillard, the French marque’s ultra-exclusive one-off personalization program has delivered its second creation. Meet the FKP Hommage, a rolling tribute to the original Veyron and the visionary behind it, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch.

The FKP is built on Bugatti’s W16 chassis, with the quad-turbocharged engine from the Chiron Super Sport, which features larger turbos, improved cooling, and a reinforced gearbox. It produces a whopping 1,578 horsepower, and it powers a hypercar with reimagined bodywork meant to look like a modern Veyron.

Even with its retro design, there are still telltale signs that this is a modern vehicle, like the thin-slit headlights. That said, Bugatti did an excellent job recreating the Veyron’s rounded styling. The Hommage features bespoke bodywork and comes with 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

The Homage has a red exterior, with a silver aluminum base coat and a red-tinted clearcoat. The black is tinted exposed carbon fiber, perfectly recreating the Veyron’s two-tone exterior.

Inside, the one-off Bugatti has a unique, circular steering wheel like the one in the original Veyron. There's a bespoke center console machined from solid aluminum and a 41-millimeter Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Tourbillon on the dashboard.

This is Bugatti’s second one-off car. It launched its first Programme Solitaire car, the Brouillard, last year. Programme Solitaire is an option above the company's Sur Mesure personalization offering, and it will produce two vehicles per year.

The Veyron debuted 20 years ago, thanks to Piëch, with 1,001 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and a top speed of 253 miles per hour.

Motor1’s Take: Bugatti’s second car from its Programme Solitaire is showcasing the company’s range in creating truly unique one-off cars. The FKP Hommage isn’t an exact recreation of the original Veyron, but it’s a stunning tribute that modernizes the car that helped relaunch the Bugatti brand for the 21st century.
