Budget airline Wizz Air has announced a new flight route from John Lennon Airport to Bacău in Romania.
Starting on October 29, the flights will operate twice weekly on Thursday and Sunday with fares starting from £21.99.
The low-cost airline operator has said that Bacău is one of Romania’s oldest cities and “an off the beaten track gem” perfect for a quick weekend city break.
The company said “travellers can enjoy the city’s rich history by day and its cheap beer by night!”

A second UK route to the city will start on the same date from Luton airport.
These two new routes follow recent growth in Wizz Air’s UK network, with new holiday routes launching this summer from London Luton to Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Lanzarote, Corfu, Heraklion, Rhodes, Zakynthos, Faro and Marrakesh.
The airline added the announcement comes as a “new era of sanitized travel begins” which introduces enhanced hygiene measures to “ensure the health and safety of its customers and crew.”
Throughout the flight, cabin crew and passengers will be required to wear facemasks, with cabin crew also required to wear gloves.
The company also say new cleaning procedures have also been introduced and passengers are requested to follow physical distancing measures during the flight.
