The price of the tolls on the Severn Crossings between England and Wales will be halved from 2018 in a move that has been welcomed by Welsh business leaders.
Janet Jones, policy chair of the Federation of Small Businesses Wales, said reducing the current charge of £6.60 for cars and £13.20 for vans would “boost the confidence” of companies. She said: “A Government study suggests tolls cost more than £100m a year in lost trade.”
But Steve Gooding, director of the RAC Foundation, questioned whether the cuts could have been bigger.
