Bucs work out former Broncos QB Paxton Lynch but have no interest in signing him

Former Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch was among 11 players the Bucs reported working out Wednesday.

The first-round pick from Memphis in 2016 is not expected to receive a contract offer from the Bucs. Tampa Bay will start Jameis Winston when they return from the bye week Oct. 14 at Atlanta. Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Griffin will remain the team's No. 2 and No. 3 quarterbacks, respectively.

Lynch was 1-3 as a starter for the Broncos. He also has had workouts with the Bills, Seahawks and Jaguars.

The Bucs like to have a large number of players work out during the bye week and typically a quarterback is among them to help throw to the receivers and running backs.

The Bucs tryout players reported to the NFL Wednesday included Lynch, linebackers Zaire Anderson, Terence Garvin; safeties Marcelis Branch, Isaiah Johnson; wide receivers Reggie Davis, DeAngelo Yancey; tackle Rick Leonard; defensive tackle Jamie Meder and running backs Troymaine Pope and Charcandrick West.

Teams typically conduct workouts throughout the year at all positions and kick the tires on players in case of injury.
