No NBA team has ever overturned a 3-0 deficit in the playoffs, but against all odds after superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo left in the second quarter with an ankle injury, the Milwaukee Bucks survived overtime in Game 4 to extend their series against the Heat.
Antetokounmpo, who hurt his ankle in Game 3, rolled the same ankle early in the second quarter, as he was carrying the Bucks offensively. Giannis remained in the game to shoot free throws leave himself eligible to return later on, but was ruled out at halftime.
The Bucks’ shots started falling after Antetokounmpo left, though, and led by Khris Middleton, Milwaukee kept the game close throughout. Tyler Herro gave the Heat a 107-106 lead with 58.6 seconds remaining in the fourth, but the Bucks had a chance to win the game in regulation at the free throw line. Donte DiVincenzo drew a foul with 1.9 remaining on the clock, but he missed the first, and tied the game with the second.
In overtime, Middleton scored nine points, including a clutch contested three with 6.9 seconds remaining.
