Bruno Fernandes has sent Jadon Sancho a welcome message on Twitter as he prepares to join his new teammates for training for the first time.
Sancho completed a £72.9m move to Old Trafford earlier this summer to conclude a saga that has been running since 2017. However, his link up with his new teammates has been delayed following his participation at Euro 2020 with England, before going on an extended holiday to recuperate.
The 21-year-old winger was watching along at home as United romped to a 4-0 win over Everton in their final pre-season friendly of the summer and reacted to Fernandes' stunning free-kick that made it 3-0 in the first half.
Following the goal Sancho tweeted out "Bruno" with a heart eyes emoji. Once the game ended and Fernandes got back in the changing room, he responded to Sancho's message with one of his own.
In a quote tweet, Fernandes simply said; "Old Trafford is waiting for you mate" alongside two emojis fist bumping each other.
Sancho is due to begin training with his new club on Monday and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that he will be in good enough condition to play a part in the Premier League opener against Leeds at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The winger will more than likely start that game on the bench after not taking part in any pre-season games, but United fans are excited about the upcoming season and the big win without Sancho did nothing to change that.
