Bruno Fernandes makes 'stand together' Manchester United promise amid poor form

Bruno Fernandes has vowed that Manchester United will ‘stand together’ after losing 4-2 to Leicester on Saturday.

Mason Greenwood had put United in front at the King Power Stadium with a stunning left-footed drive from outside the box.

However, Youri Tielemans equalised for the home side with an exquisite first time strike that he whipped into the far corner, and Caglar Soyuncu put the Foxes in front following a goalmouth scramble.

United responded shortly after through Marcus Rashford’s strike to make it 2-2, but almost instantly Jamie Vardy struck to put the Foxes ahead and Patson Daka sealed the win for Brendan Rodgers' side in injury time.

Saturday's defeat was the latest in a string of disappointing results for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side that has seen them win just two of their last seven in all competitions.

Pressure continues to build on Solskjaer, given the fact he was heavily backed in the transfer market, spending big on Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo — but as yet there has been no tangible improvement with United lagging behind their rivals.

Fernandes backed his side to turn around their fortunes tweeting on Sunday night: “We can only raise from this series of negative results by standing together and United. That’s what we’ll do.”

United are sixth in the table, five points behind leaders Chelsea and face a difficult run of fixtures.

They face Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City in their next three Premier League games, but before that they host Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday.
