Kyle Kalis had a couple of weeks where he was the starting right guard for the Cleveland Browns during training camp. His hold on the job eventually faded away, as Eric Kush proved a more stable and consistent player.
The torch was officially passed when Kalis suffered a concussion in the preseason opener against Washington. He never suited up again, staying sidelined before being placed on injured reserve.
Now the Browns and Kalis have agreed to an injury settlement, and Kalis has accepted his release from the team’s IR. He is now free to sign with another team, pending his clearance from the NFL’s concussion protocol.
