Brother and sister sentenced for daylight affray on St Paul's street

A brother and sister were involved in a ruckus in St Paul's.

Fianzo and Skiee Clarke took part in the melee in Grosvenor Road in which punches were thrown with a man.

Both Fianzo Clarke, 31, of Wilson St, St Paul's, and his sister, 22, of Lansdowne Court in Easton Road, denied wrongdoing after the incident in June 2018.

But a jury convicted both of affray after a trial at Bristol Crown Court in January.

The recorder Miss Rosaleen Collins handed Fianzo Clarke an 18-month community order with 200 hours' unpaid work.

She handed Skiee Clarke a 12-month community order with 100 hours' unpaid work.

The recorder told them: "This offended the public.

"It was blatantly obvious there were children walking past and a mum with a small child rushed by at 4.30pm.

"Those people clearly looked shocked about what they were viewing.

"The jury made a sensible decision.

"Its a shame both of you saw fit to take this to trial."

Attending Bristol Crown Court as a witness

The court heard that after words were exchanged Fianzo Clarke threw a punch and the affray ensued.

Skiee Clarke initially stepped in to protect her brother but "went over the top", the court was told.

Ellen McAnaw, defending Fianzo Clarke, said her client had a partner and children as well as a job and was deemed to be a low risk of re-offending.

Gregory Gordon, defending Skiee Clarke, said: "Regret comes through in the pre-sentence report."
