Brooklyn Beckham was forced to defend himself after getting mocked for adding a wine cork to his pasta sauce.
On Wednesday, the eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham took to his Instagram to share a series of photos in the kitchen.
In the first snap, the 24-year-old had his puppy wrapped up in a hoodie hanging by his side as he stirred the sauce bubbling away in a pot.
Fans noticed a wine cork placed in the pot and immediately rushed to the comment section to laugh about it.
Another snap had Brooklyn sipping on red wine while he waited for the sauce to cook.
"The wine cork in the pot," one user said along with a laughing face emoji.
"Is the cork added flavour?" one user said while another added: "Only here for the comments pointing out the cork."
One follower posted: "Why are you cooking the cork for bro?"
"The cork is the secret ingredient," another fan said.
Not long after he posted the pictures, he took to his Instagram Stories to explain why he placed the cork in the sauce.
He highlighted a section of an article and posted the screenshot for his 15.1 million followers.
"More research ensued and we found information that the addition of wine corks added to the cooking liquid ensures a more tender dish," the sentence read.
The article came from Naples News, with the website suggesting wine corks are better suited for cooking squid or octopus.
"Experts have argued about this method but most chefs and those who regularly prepare squid and octopus swear that there are enzymes in the corks that insure a more palatable dish," it said.
Brooklyn later took part in a Q&A session with fans and answered a follower who asked him if he's a chef.
One fan asked: "Are you chef? [sic]," to which he responded: "NOPE x but food is my passion," alongside a red heart emoji.
This isn't the first time the food enthusiast has been criticised on social media for his love of cooking, with followers previously hitting out, claiming he was "out of touch" after he shared a video making creamy truffle tagliatelle, despite the current cost of living crisis.
