Broncos QB Kevin Hogan reacts to Andrew Luck’s retirement

After Andrew Luck left Stanford to enter the NFL draft in 2012, the Cardinal turned to Kevin Hogan, who went on to start the next four seasons for the school.

Hogan followed in Luck’s footsteps to the NFL and he was just as shocked as everyone else when the Colts quarterback announced his retirement on Saturday evening.

“I know Andrew very well,” Hogan said after the Broncos’ 10-6 loss to the Rams on Saturday. “I work out with him in the offseason. I don’t know much of the details. I kind of found out along with everyone else.

“I just hope all the best for him. I hope everything is okay with him and his family. He loves the game of football. I just wish him the best. That’s really all I can say. I don’t really know anything else.”

Luck is walking away from football at age 29. Hogan is competing for a spot on Denver’s 53-man roster as a backup.
